Description

An International, multidiscipline organisation with expertise in engineering consultancy for the built environment urgently requires a Senior Buildings Acoustician to join their specialist consulting team in London.

The company possesses a strong and challengingportfolio of projects across the globe, successful applicants will lead acoustic design across a broad range of market sectors including buildings for performance, airports, convention centers, hotels and high quality residential.

Qualifications:
A strong first or higher degree in acoustics, ideally combined with science, architecture, construction management or engineering studies at graduate or post graduate level
Membership of the IOA or equivalent body is strongly desired for this role.
Experience
Considerable senior post graduate experience in Acoustic Consultancy within the Buildings sector
Experience of relevant legislation, standards and codes for both the UK and a wider international market would be expected.
Modelling experience with building acoustics and environmental noise tools
Ideally knowledge and experience of building services, environmental noise, building vibration.
Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills.
A proven track record in effective project and financial management
Ability to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy
Strong project and people management skills are essential.
Duties

Provide consultancy and design covering all aspects of built environment development, but biased towards building fabric and building engineering systems.

Preparation of technical and financial input to proposals for acoustic design.

Providing a point of contact on acoustics and vibration issues and developing both internal and external clients with a view to extending the multidisciplinary skills of the business in general.

Provide consultancy in architectural and engineering acoustics at both strategic and detailed level
Generate innovative solutions to complex issues that meet business needs.
Resolve complex acoustical engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies
Summarise data interpretations and providing conclusions
Supervise and co-ordinate the work of others
Manage project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines
Financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget
Build client relationships, respond to enquiries, communicate with clients to establish their needs and draft fee proposals
Provide technical guidance and mentor junior members of the team
Contribute to group expansion and develop and maintain business through networking, contact nurturing and presentations
Projects

Examples of projects include road schemes, bridges, harbors, schools, sports stadia, offices, hotels, hospitals, tall buildings, buildings for performance, airports, convention centres and high quality residential.
