WN air base or DLR air base


The Air Ambulance Service provides two very important services Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and the Children's Air Ambulance which provides paediatric transfers across the UK.

Our objective is to save lives and improve clinical outcomes.

Supporting the NHS we utilise specialist pilots, doctors, nurses and paramedics to be able to react quickly and efficiently to emergencies and paediatric transfers.

The role:

Reporting to the Air Base Manager this is a full time position, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.

The position is located at either our WN Base in Baginton or our DLR base, currently in Nottingham, with occasional travel to other operational sites required.

You will be based at the base of your choosing.

Purpose:To provide a quality service, procuring medical/base consumables and equipment, and ensuring equipment is maintained, repaired, and serviced in line with agreements. The role holder will also provide excellent customer service and administrative support to the operation of TAAS.


Relationships:

This role holder will build strong relationships with our suppliers and service providers. They will also work regularly with the internal operations team and other departments across the organisation.


Scope:


  • Lead on and develop audit tools to measure and improve quality of services.
  • Manage our stores, including drugs and consumables
  • Report and act on results from audits to the operations management team monthly, covering all aspects of operational delivery including IP&C for bases, vehicles, and aircraft
  • Lead on the effective and efficient procurement of medical/base consumables and equipment incl. drugs. This includes identifying new equipment and medical devices.
  • Schedule services for all Equipment
  • Manage our fleet of Critical Care Cars, booking in services when required
  • Ensure facilities at the air bases our maintained.
  • Liaise with contractors on any planned maintenance
  • Act as a point of contact for all matters relating to the upkeep of head office
  • Maintain the equipment asset register, including equipment maintenance/repair and servicing records inline with manufacturers recommendations and TAAS SOP.

  • Essential_
  • Experience with managing logistics, and auditing tools.
  • Understanding, and experience of working with drugs and other medical supplies.
  • Ability to work in a fastmoving environment with conflicting deadlines;
  • Ability to communicate and interact with senior professionals from various areas
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Genuine interest in the work of TAAS.

  • Experience of clinical safety.
  • Knowledge of information governance
