We have an exciting and rare opportunity available for the right person to join our widening participation team at the Chorley site of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

We are a friendly, award-winning team who would warmly welcome a passionate and engaging addition. You will be required to provide administrative support to the Widening Participation team and apprenticeship delivery team.

Widening Participation programmes are designed to helptraditional and non-traditional learners with aspirations of progressing into a career with the NHS.

  • Work closely with staff from Undergraduate Medical Education, Human Resources Development and Nursing Education in order to support the development, coordination and delivery of widening participation activities
  • Be proactive in supporting the planning and coordination of widening participation programmes
  • Resolve queries relating to widening participation programmes efficiently and effectively
  • Act as a point of contact for learners on widening participation and apprenticeship programme
  • Act as a point of contact for those delivering sessions for widening participation and apprenticeship programmes
  • Record learner attendance
  • Keep up to date accurate databases and records
  • Organise timetables for students requesting work experience.
  • To promote WP activities and Apprenticeships at internal and external events
  • Ensure all data complies with data protection act and local policies
  • Manage own workload, work independently deferring to manager when deemed necessary
  • Provide certificates for tutors and/or learners
  • Organise all resources required to support the streamline delivery of widening participation programmes, booking educational resources, venues, tutors and lecturers within strict deadlines
  • Undergo annual appraisal and be responsible for maintaining a PDP and participating in the annual review process
  • Undertake training as required for the development of the post
  • Be responsible for maintaining the quality of programme documentation and information
  • Assist with evaluation and quality assurance processes as required
  • Maintain personal awareness of learner cultural diversity, responding to individual learner queries in an appropriate manner, presenting a fair and equitable approach at all times
  • Generate and circulate as required data relating to timetables and placements
  • Support the widening participation team by arranging meetings, taking notes and minutes, preparing and distributing agendas and papers as required
  • Be ready to act at short notice to resolve last minute tutor cancellations
  • Coordinate alternative dates for delivery of cancelled sessions and ensure information relating to curriculum timetable changes are related to students efficiently.
