WHAT TO EXPECT

An amazing opportunity for a Senior Project Planner has arisen to join our organisation at Gaydon within Special Vehicles Programme Planning team who are using Primavera P6 to deliver exciting multi-million-pound portfolio of new vehicles.

As a Senior Project Planner, you'll work alongside different teams to support the programme team in transitioning to the new way of working and ensuring on-time delivery of the programme:
Programme Management - Support the Strategy, Delivery and Launch interactions to maintain on-time programme delivery.
Purchasing - reviewing the Sourcing status v Engineering tooling lead times
Engineering - understanding of the tooling strategy to support the programme.
Design - aligning the feasibility checkpoint regime to support Virtual Series & Engineering.
Vehicle Engineering - awareness of the Virtual Series process and Verification Test plan.
Launch & STA - Ensuring the Pre-Production launch phase is planned effectively towards a robust PSW plan.
Core Planning - Understanding the full Planning landscape of your programme with respect to dependencies.
Core Pre-PS Planning - early visibility of planning disconnects.
Cycle Plan - alignment to the latest programme assumptions


WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Development and management of integrated schedules, using P6.

Work with all members of the programme team to ensure their functional work and workstream plans supports the programme plan.

Identify areas of risk and conflict within the plans and develop contingency plans.
Compile management reports and associated metrics to support management reviews.
Guide the programme through the initial contracting of schedule management at the start of the programme.

The creation of the programme plan and associated sub-plans, and the management and tracking of the plan through to fruition.

Provide guidance, advice and coaching to the programme team and the wider planning function.
Ensure compliance with all data quality and systems alignment standards.
Provide guidance and act as mentor to more junior planners.
Able to operate Independently with mínimal supervision.
Maintain a positive and constructive environment ensuring all stakeholder inputs are considered to support credible decision making.
Proactively monitor programme health through metrics, risks and issues and initiate corrective action where required.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Strong schedule management skills including critical path analysis and network planning methods and principles.
Confident schedule management use of automated scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 or MS Project)
Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to enable you to land schedule management and resolve any planning issues.

Confident with excellent communication skills and with the ability to lead the Programme through the critical path and key milestones.

Degree qualified (Business, IT or Engineering) or commensurate experience.
Experienced user of Primavera P6.
Programme Management qualifications (e.g. APM/PMP).
Understanding of the PCDS Process.
Experience of working on major projects in a relevant industry concerned with new product development (e.g. Aerospace / Defence / Nuclear / Rail / Oil and Gas).
Experience of using Microsoft Project.
Conversant with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
