In this post you will be working with a team of Housing and Support Officers to deal with rent arrears where our customers' tenancies may be at risk.

Reporting to Housing Services Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for an Income Officer to provide an efficient and customer-focused rent income collection service in accordance with legislation, Ability Housing's policies, and our customer strategy.

Your role will include monitoring rent accounts of around 650 homes and taking appropriate action to identify and manage rent arrears in accordance with the pre-action protocol.

What you'll do

  • To work as part of a team providing housing management and tenancy sustainment support services to Ability's client group, which includes customers with learning disabilities, mental health needs and / or physical and sensory impairments.
  • To provide comprehensive housing and tenancy management services including the management of rent and service charge payments; voids and lettings; tenancy management and enforcement, including nuisance and antisocial behaviour; estate / scheme inspections, property maintenance and health and safety issues.
  • To provide care, support and supervision to customers to help them maintain their housing and achieve their personal independent living goals.

Job Title - Income Officer

Salary - £32,600 dependent on experience


Location - Staines

Hours - 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
