The Haringey Community Service Lead is a key management role, responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of Community Services in Haringey.

The role is to ensure our services are providing timely, efficient and effective care and treatment, which is responsive and innovative.

This role is to also to continue driving the Transformation of Community Service provision across Haringey, working closely withservice users, carers, systempartners and local residents.


The post holder will develop services in the borough with system partners, other statutory agencies, the independent sector, service users and carers.


The post holder will be responsible for a portfolio of services including contributing to the strategic management and embedding of Long-Term conditions services across the Borough.

The post holder will work in partnership with the local authority, other Trust and GP Networks as required.

You will lead by example, demonstrating effective behaviours and providing clear direction whilst promoting and developing a positive, motivated and engaged team culture and ethos across a range of different services.


The post holder will not only have a senior operational lead role but will play a key leadership role in developing and delivering divisional plans for ensuring the trust wide commitment (in line with national expectations) to a zero tolerance approach for out of area placements.


  • Ensure effective multi disciplinary work including appropriate arrangements for supervisory and appraisal procedures are in place and implemented within a performance management framework.
  • Ensure the requirements of corporate clinical governance are met.
  • Promote and strengthen the social care dimension of service delivery, working closely with social care colleagues in Social Services.
  • In line with the Trusts polices, take the leading role in the investigation of serious incidents and complaints.
  • To work in collaboration with the Consultant group and other lead professionals for the Adult Mental Health and Social Care team.
  • To operate within agreed budgets and ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions and other policies and procedures and any audit recommendations.
  • To maintain compliance with the Trust's approach to Human Resources, including the developing of training plans for the teams.
  • Create a supportive management culture within the in order to harness the capacity, energy and commitment of the workforce. We operate a Just and Learning Culture.
  • To continually review working practices, methods and staffing requirements to enable the local service to adapt to shifting pressures and demands.
  • To ensure that care management assessments, packages of care are reviews and carers assessments are undertaken.
  • Comply with statutory social care guidance and Trust social care policies.

We have more than 3.300 staff working out of 20 main sites serving a population of 1.2 million people. We provide community health services and mental health services for young people, adults and older people.

Our North London Forensic Service treats and cares for people in the criminal justice system who have mental health conditions.

We also provide one of the largest eating disorders services in England, as well as drug and alcohol services.
