SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:
Wolverhampton, WV5


Duration:
Full time, ongoing


Salary:
£80-95 per day


The school/role:


We are currently looking for a friendly and experienced teaching assistant to take on a role in a fantastic school in Wolverhampton, WV5.

You will be working to maintain classroom routines and support the needs of primary aged children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).


Therefore, experience working with SLD, PMLD and ASD is vital so that the children's needs are recognised and catered for.

Any additional qualifications (
PECS, Makaton, Team Teach) are ideal but not necessary.


This is a full-time on-going position with the hope that this teaching assistant stays on in the school in a permanent position.

A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.


Requirements:


  • Qualified teaching assistant
    OR relevant SEN background.
  • Experience supporting children with physical, learning, and sensory difficulties.
  • Experience working 1:1 with children and young people with SLD, PMLD and ASD.
  • Experience working with children in a primary setting.
  • Supervise pupils with SLD, PMLD, ASD ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented.
  • Be positive, flexible, proactive, and patient.
  • Adopt a calm and understanding approach to SEN education and support.
  • Recent schoolbased references


  • Valid Photo ID

  • Driving Licence or passport.
  • Full DBS on the update service
