THE VACANCY

Department Overview:


Our National Programmes team are dedicated to providing professional services to RLB's key clients and those with national portfolios, they manage large change programmes to those clients in the UK and worldwide.

The team operate a hybrid working policy, and although they are lead out of our London office, they have a nationally based resource team with access to our network of regional offices.

Building Surveyors / Built Asset Consultants work in close contact with the various members of this multi-disciplinary team, and the client.


Our Building Surveyors / Built Asset Consultants within National Programmes at RLB proactively manage and undertake surveys, formulate designs and specifications, administrate projects and programmes plus various other bespoke services to ensure our clients estate remains well maintained and achieves its full potential.

We additionally provide extensive commercial services which include Dilapidations, Lease Advice and Pre-acquisition surveys. We pride ourselves on the quality of our service to our clients and enjoy long term relationships them.


Overview of Role:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Client relationship management and reporting to Partners
  • To ensure business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • Carrying out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies
  • Take personal accountability for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
  • Management and preparation of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and posthandover
  • Ensuring business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • Preparation of various programmes, surveys and reports
  • Managing multiple projects on 'LIVE' operational sites
  • Assistance with the preparation of contract documents
  • Management of multidisciplinary project teams
  • Administering building contracts
  • Managing the design, H&S and commercial process
  • Full ownership from project brief to final completion and occupation
  • Undertaking asset management surveys and planned maintenance inspections

    Person Specification:
  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline
  • MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body
  • Strong technical delivery experience
  • Retail sector experience desirable
  • Consultancy experience desirable
  • Good construction knowledge and understanding of M&E
  • Good knowledge of JCT Contracts
  • Familiarity with design process
  • Ability to work on own initiative is imperative to being part of a UK wide team
  • Ability to build longterm relationships
  • Ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to secure more business for RLB
  • Well organised, diligent, proactive, welldisciplined and commercially astute.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
  • A team player with a 'can do' attitude, outgoing, patient, diplomatic, personable and flexible.
