Purpose of Role
The Head of Technology (HoT) for C&C will be responsible for C&C technology across contract mobilisations, technology projects, innovations and overseeing support.
The HoT proactively serves as a "trusted advisor," and is the key C&C business contact in promoting technology capabilities.
This leadership role ensures that the C&C business achieve their objectives through the effective use of C&C technology and works closely with C&C Technology Partners responsible for specific solution deployments.
The C&C HoT will have line management responsibility for a team of C&C contract-focused IT resources who are brought in as necessary to provide tactical expertise and support.
The HoT will provide a strategic interface for the purpose of C&C business technology strategy development, innovations, solution discovery, service management, risk management, assurance and enabling business relationship management.
The role will report to the Finance Director within C&C, with a dotted line to the Head of ISBP - Communities (IS), a key function of the HoT role will be to act as an escalation point and interface into the wider Group IS/MSS team as and when required.
Job objectives and responsibilities
- Act as the primary technology point of contact for C&C.
- Work closely with the C&C leadership team to understand the business challenges and ensure C&C technology partners and resources are deployed effectively to achieve key priorities.
- Engage with C&C digital suppliers to understand development roadmaps and identify/progress opportunities for C&C whilst managing cross partner dependencies.
- Support C&C Business Development team by leading the C&C technology stream during opportunity engagement and proposal development for all tenders.
- Where appropriate, leverage the skills of the wider Group IS/MSS team and Technology Partners for Business Development opportunities and subsequent contract mobilisations/delivery.
- Ensure C&C technology strategic initiatives are aligned with the Group IS strategy and contribute towards the technology adoption roadmap for C&C whilst gaining business buyin.
- Ensure C&C adheres to all Group IS policies and appropriate measures are in place for system security and monitor performance with effective governance processes in place to report and mitigate any noncompliance.
- Engage with C&C stakeholders including Clients, Operational Leads and Supply Chain Partners to deliver Contract Mobilisations, Product and Solution Innovations.
- Effective engagement with stakeholders by ensuring business/function requirements are accurately translated; outcomes agreed; and delivered within agreed timescales/costs.
- Collaborate with the C&C Finance Business Partners to adhere to the C&C technology budget and drive maximum business value.
- Ensure there are effective mechanisms for continual service improvement and that SME's and Technology Partners are involved in aligning roadmaps.
Person Specification
Experience & Leadership
- Extensive C&C Business Systems and technology experience, with relevant qualification and/or proven career track record with commercial experience, ideally in an Outsourced Services business.
- Able to see the bigger picture and find appropriate pragmatic solutions to business problems.
- Is able to set clear direction, appropriate standards of behaviour and delegate work appropriately.
- The ability to make clear informed decisions, act under own direction and take responsibility for actions, projects and people.
