Are you a qualified counsellor with a minimum of a level 4 diploma in counselling, and experience of facilitating group sessions?

We are looking for a passionate and experienced counsellor to join us at Signpost to facilitate the day-to-day running of our busy Hertfordshire based service and to assist in delivering group sessions for young people and parent support groups.

You will have membership with a professional body such as BACP, UKCP or NCS and will be required to hold or undertake level 3 safeguarding.


Signpost is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced counsellor who is passionate about working with children and young people.

Signpost is a counselling provision that supports children and young people across Hertfordshire from 10-25 years of age. We offer face-to-face and remote counselling sessions as well as group sessions.

The role will involve counselling assessments for the children and young people wishing to access our service, triaging referrals and overseeing the waiting list for the service.

The role will also involve supporting some of the group counselling sessions which may take place in the evening or at the weekend.


You will have a proven experience in working with a wide variety of clients (over 450 clinical hours would be desirable).

You will be experienced in identifying, supporting and escalating high risk clients, such as those who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts.

You must have experience in using different clinical measures and therapeutic approaches as well as having knowledge of relevant legislation.

This is a part-time role, for 15 hours a week.

The hours are 2-8pm Tuesday and 2-8pm Thursday at the Signpost office, with the remaining 3 hours to be negotiated.
