Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) is one of Britain's leading independent aerospace and industrial forgings manufacturers.

Expanding rapidly the company operates the largest range of open and closed die forging equipment found anywhere in Europe In additionthe company operates heat treatment, testing, inspection and machining making the 14 acre site a busy and exciting place to work.

The aim of this business is to manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium,stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine, Formula 1 as well as oil and gas sector.


Main Purpose of the Role


Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working on two shifts, you will work as part of a team to ensure that the company is able to operate safely and efficiently.


5 key areas are:

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Attend and react to breakdown situations.
  • Work alongside subcontractors when necessary.
  • Installation of new equipment.
  • Carrying out general site and building electrical maintenance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Installation of new plant
  • Planning electrical maintenance tasks for completion during the shutdown
  • Development and upgrading of existing equipment
  • Good knowledge of safety and permit to work systems
  • Reactive Maintenance
  • Inspection and testing of electrical equipment

Skills and Experience

Essential:


  • Experience in a heavy duty industrial environment.
  • Experience of fault finding, wiring and instrumentation work.
  • Preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Reactive maintenance and fault finding on PLC.
  • Proactive and selfmotivated personality.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

Desirable:


  • Experience in PAT testing.
  • Experience in multiskilled working which might include mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

Essential:

- a fully skilled Electrician who has an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and who has a 17th Edition qualification
