An exciting opportunity has arisen in Health Care of the Older Person (HCOP) for a part time Patient Pathway administrator to join our team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to ensure all clinical correspondence is typed and processed within specified timescales and will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job, providing typing support for the speciality.

The post holder will need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.


The role holder will work closely with the Specialty PA and Deputy Service Manager to help ensure local and national targets are met.

Working for our organisation

HCOP specialty has the largest bed base across the Trust employing approx. 800 staff. You would be joining a highly motivated team which includes medics, nursing staff, ACPS, Physician Associates and prescribing pharmacists. HCOP manages patients within an inpatient, outpatient and community geriatric setting focusing on patient frailty and general geriatric health.

Key job responsibilities include maintaining databases, audio typing, RTT, liaising with patients, external and internal staff.

The post holder will be expected to work to specific timescales and will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job.


In undertaking this role, the employee will be expected to behave at all times that are consistent with and actively supports the Trust values and Behaviours.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • RSA III word processing or equivalent experience
  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent C or above must include English
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Proven typing and admin experience
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Can complete letters, forms, reports and tables using computerised technology from information collected
Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS and experience using MS Office, Medway PAS and Notis
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally gathered from both verbal and documented reports
  • Uses correct grammar and spelling

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
