The Senior Technical Sales Specialist, Bio Production, will be responsible for development of the Cell culture, Cell therapy Business in UK, Ireland and Icel.

You will be focused on upstream bioprocesses and developing business for the Gibco Cell culture portfolio of products, proprietary media and services.

The goal is to develop a business plan, mid and long-term objectives, sales and pricing strategy and customer satisfaction. This role supports customers from bench scale to commercialization & molecule design-in. You will operate at a senior level in the customer organization.


This position is field based, with a remote home office location convenient to reach all customers within the assigned sales territory.

This role will require frequent overnight stays. Some international travel may be required.


What will you do?

  • Hunt for new opportunities within assigned territory, leveraging product portfolio to build a foundation for long term growth.
  • You will work to successfully implement and designin our products into the manufacturing process of new molecules
  • Drive existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates
  • Develop a territory plan and work independently on daily activities to meet the plan goals
  • Prioritize New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects within territory to increase adoption rates and revenue return
  • Collaborate and influence Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs), Field Application Specialists (FAS) and Core account managers (CAMs) within their district to develop and lead account growth strategies
  • Initiate product evaluations as part of the sales process, coordinating activities between the BAM and FAS.
  • Aid in development of technical solutionmatching for complex opportunities
  • Work with R&D and Product Management to identify gaps in capability or capacity to address unmet customer needs
  • Obtain customer forecasts for new and existing base business
  • Represent Cell Culture at knowledgebased seminars and customer experience workshops
  • Stay ahead of competitive products and Feed voice of customer to the Business Unit

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a Life Sciencerelated field, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering
  • Proven sales experience working in a role related to the pharmaceutical bioproduction process, as you must possess an indepth understanding of the specific customer challenges related to pharmaceutical bioproduction and be able to propose satisfactory solutions
  • Previous experience in a customerfacing role
  • A sales "hunter" with a commercial mentality, strongly motivated by desire to win new business
  • Ability to collaborate with and successfully influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization
  • Shows good judgment, tact and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Able to handle confidential and proprietary information with sensitivity
  • Must possess selfmotivation, passion, a positive demeanour, and perform as a great teammate
  • Business Proficient in English
  • Driving license
