What are we looking for?


Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Phlebotomist to join our Nursing Operations Team with a competitive salary range on offer, up to £28,000.


This is a Monday to Sunday role working 8 hour shifts between the hours of , with potential overtime as per the service requirements.


Working as part of the team and in accordance to specific practice guidelines and protocols, the post holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture and cannulation to obtain blood samples from patients.

Concentration, accuracy and an attention to detail are essential for this position.

  • The Phlebotomist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, efficient care for patients, while ensuring delivery of care is aligned to the Cleveland Clinic London (CCL) mission and values.
What will your duties include?

  • To offer advice to patients on specimen collection and related topics.
  • To collect samples of blood ensuring CCL Infection Control and aseptic guidelines are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that the patient is identified correctly before proceeding, requesting that the patient identifies him/herself with full name, address and DOB, matching these details to that of the request.
  • Identify the analytical requirements from the request and take appropriate specimens, ensuring that these are correctly labelled at the time of sampling with the label provided.
  • Adopt a friendly and professional manner that promotes confidence in the patient and reduces anxiety to a minimum.
What we need from you?

  • NVQ qualification in phlebotomy
  • Demonstrable tract record over several roles (or equivalent progression) postgraduate Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting is required
  • As part of managerial experience, extensive experience in a senior charge nurse position, or experience in a charge nurse position in acute care environment is required
  • Demonstrable broad clinical and managerial experience in nursing field
  • Desirable to be competent in/have had exposure to the use of electronic clinical systems (EPIC, similar modern clinical systems)
