About the Role:


Associate Scientific Directors are responsible for the production of high-quality medical content, always meeting the client's communication objectives and ensuring work is delivered both on time and to budget. In addition to this, the Associate Scientific Director confidently incorporates strategic direction on assigned accounts and is the acknowledged go-to contact for in-depth knowledge of select therapy areas.


Associate Scientific Directors are responsible for maintaining oversight of their team and the team's output, ensuring the same consistently high standards and internal processes are being adhered to.

Associate Scientific Directors proactively develop their team through career development discussions and sharing their knowledge and experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Communication

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly to different audiences through a variety of media (print and digital)
  • Identify and communicate important updates and any medical/regulatory milestones to the team. Link this with any potential new business opportunities where applicable
  • Provide regular feedback to teams across accounts and projects
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that processes are in place to update all team members with new data, new references and developments in relevant therapy areas

Project Delivery

  • Able to work across multiple projects and accounts simultaneously, whilst monitoring team output
  • Consistently produce clientready deliverables across a wide range of projects
  • Demonstrate full compliance with internal processes and lead adherence to best practices across teams, setting the example for junior team members to follow
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of forecasting and resource planning
  • Provide additional insight into writing styles, content inclusion, data interpretation and subsequent actions based on previous experience
  • Support the senior team by taking the lead on multiwriter projects, assisting with resourcing and scientific and communications review
  • Provide feedback on scientific components of budget development
  • Contribute to and support the evolution of best practices and processes, ensuring maximum efficiency
  • Share indepth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance to support the wider team
  • Enter time and submit expenses by the deadlines set, using appropriate job codes

Scientifically Savvy

  • Independently produce consistently highlevel content
  • Work closely with the wider team to lead and drive projects, providing expert content development support
  • Translate large amounts of highly technical and scientific data into accessible language for a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of scientific content and demonstrate the ability to communicate this to colleagues, clients and external experts, knowing how and when to adapt language and content
  • Contribute leadership to deliver the highest possible standards in scientific excellence throughout the entire project process

Strategic Mindset

  • Provide scientific leadership on assigned accounts, including confidently implementing detailed strategic direction
  • Demonstrate a high degree of scientific and commercial knowledge and insights across all activities, both within accounts and across the agency
  • Partner with client services teams in strategic planning activities and account/issues management, as well as forecasting and resource planning
  • Identify opportunities and develop these into projects that are highly scientific and/or technical in nature

Business Development

  • Actively participate in business development initiatives with both existing and potential clients
  • Collaborate with client service teams to crosss
