Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant, Clinical Services - Band 3

(1 Year Fixed Term)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member to join the clinical pharmacy services team at Croydon University Hospital.


The post holder will work closely with clinical services to develop provision and expansion of pharmacy technical department based activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for professional development and will provide a greater insight into secondary care pharmacy services.

This role will be integral in supporting the provision of clinical services to patients on the wards and will include the following:

  • Ward based dispensing service to streamline patients discharges.
  • Provide a vital link between the multidisciplinary team at ward level and the Pharmacy Service.
  • Ensuring medication storage and security are met to comply with national standards.
  • Speaking to patients and relatives about their medicines on admission and optimise patient own medicines brought into hospital through direct discussion with patients / family relatives / carers.
  • Transferring medicines to other wards to reduce missed doses.
  • Deliver a strong pharmacy presence in a demanding environment.
  • To gain an underpinning knowledge and practice experience of performing medicines management duties.
  • To participate in the general running of the department undertaking the full range of duties of a pharmacy assistant.
