S&PB Retail Ltd have got over 120 shops (Sayers and Poundbakery) across the North West, North Wales, and Yorkshire and Midlands areas, with plans to expand even further

We provide our customers with a fast paced service in many high street locations with great tasting quality products including sandwiches, savouries and cakes at excellent value prices.

We have a vacancy for a night driver / supervisor at our Distribution/Warehouse Facility in Farnworth, Bolton.

Working pattern 5 x 10 hours shifts on a rotating pattern.
47.5 weekly contract hours after breaks. Weekly paid (47.5 hours*£13.50 per hour = £641 p/w/£33,345 a year) plus £25 per week supervisor allowance (£1,300 per year).
Base hourly rate will be reviewed in April 202
Start time 16:30pm 02:30am.
Management CPC qualification desirable.

Two week rotating shift pattern:

Week 1 Monday
Friday.

Week 2 Sunday

Thursday.
No Saturday night working.

The role is a mixture of driving and supervisor duties.

Handover from transport office staff at 16:30pm, supervisor on site at Gower Street between 16:30 - 20:00 and handover to other night supervisor.

Deliver ambient / chilled to six shops in Wales.

Accountabilities:

To deputise for Distribution Team Leader driver despatch and debrief.
To provide guidance and advice on the use of multitemperature delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with company standards for ambient, chilled and frozen delivery temperatures.
To plan vehicle allocation and route coverage when breakdowns or absence impact the original plan.
To perform random gate checks to ensure pre vehicle inspections are completed and vehicles are in a road worthy condition when leaving site.
To conduct regular driver checks ensuring drivers are completing their temperature control sheets and defect books on a daily basis.
To support drivers with familiarisation training on the delivery vehicle, the driving controls and any ancillary equipment such as a taillift or fridge unit that would be required to fulfil a driver's duties and meet health and safety requirements.
To assist with any breakdown and defects that occur during your shift, this will include dealing with maintenance providers to arrange call outs.
To assist in the training and planning of new driver employees.

Qualifications and Experience:

Current driving lisence, as appropriate for the vehicle class, which meets the company standard.
A good knowledge and understanding of drivers' hours laws and the usage of digital tachographs.
Good motivation and support skills. The ability to communicate effectively with the transport management team and the drivers.
The display of selfmotivation and initiative.
