This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working remotely.
Dependent on the 'tasking' and business need, there may be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK (or potentially involve occasional overseas visits).
Job description:
You will be responsible for providing project delivery assistance to the Project Manager which conforms to the policy, governance and guidance issued from the Defence Digital SDO Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (PMO).
As part of the Programme Management Office (PgMO) within the Crypto and Defensive Cyber Delivery Team, you will be providing support to cross-government programmes and projects, that are delivering the next generation of the UK's Cryptographic and Cyber Security Defences.
The PgMO is a dynamic team whose responsibilities include providing functional support to project and programme: governance and assurance; planning and scheduling; risk management; Management Information development and reporting; Business Intelligence and decision support; and Centre of Excellence.
To achieve this, you must be able to work comfortably with an array of Corporate IT tools, including:
Microsoft Office suite; project planning and risk management tools; data visualisation and team collaboration tools. PgMO is undergoing a period of internal transformation. You will be responsible for delivering elements of this transformation in addition to 'routine' tasking.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring support is provided to a wide range of projects and common project management; processes, methods, techniques and tools are used when undertaking tasking.
- Managing the engagement of a diverse range of stakeholders and ensuring information is provided within the required timescales to support reporting and board requirements.
- Ensuring that all tasking as defined by the Project Manager is carried out within the sanctioned performance, cost and time (PCT) envelope, utilising a range of functional competences in order to deliver.
- Ensuring the administration of the quality review process and configuration management procedure maintaining these and any other records delegated by the Project Manager).
- Ensuring the scrutiny and assurance of Business Cases.
- Managing and Producing high quality project documentation and administrating Project Board meetings.
Person specification:
As a team member, you will become an expert who is responsible for delivering support, guidance and advice to project managers on MOD project delivery methods and tools.
You will require a flexible approach with excellent prioritisation and stakeholder management skills, in order to deliver a range of quickly evolving, senior stakeholder demands.
Your outputs will need to be of the highest quality as they may directly inform and influence stakeholders at up to 3* Director level within MOD.
