Thomas Hall School, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Administrator to join the School in June 2024 to provide direct support to the school leadership team.

Plymouth NJC, Grade C pt 5-7 £23,500 - £24,294 per annum pro rata


Actual Salary Range:
£20,912 - £21,619


Contract Type:
Permanent, full time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)


Contract Hours:37 hours per week, Monday to Friday


About the role
We are looking to recruit an experienced Administrator to provide direct support to the school leadership team.

They may also be required at times to work as part of a wider admin team that supports the school on a range of administrative duties.


The job involves working within recognised procedures and will include busy reception cover, answering telephone and face-to-face enquiries from a range of stakeholders including parents, staff and students.

General administrative duties including maintenance of manual and computerised records/management systems, financial administration e.g. recording school meals and undertaking specific duties that support the day-to-day administrative operations of the school.


This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, confident and dedicated person who is very well organised and with a can-do attitude.

We are looking for people who have the following experience and qualities:


  • NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Good knowledge of general computer packages and office equipment e.g. Microsoft Office, photocopier, telephones etc.
  • GCSE Mathematics and English
  • Grade C and above or equivalent
  • Be able to maintain up to date website information
  • Communicate with parents both written and orally on behalf of SLT
  • Confidence in reception cover and have good verbal and written communication skills to exchange information with a range of audiences (e.g. staff, students, parents and others)
  • Experience of manual and computerised record/information systems
  • Previous experience of working in a school, whilst is not essential, would be desirable.
