Charlton Mackrell Church of England Primary School and Preschool has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Administrative Officer to support the Business Manager and Headteacher in their duty to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.
As a key member of the team you will be working within a busy school environment, assisting with the administration, human resources and finances to ensure the smooth running of the school.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for most day-to-day operational and business functions of Charlton Mackrell Primary
School and Preschool in a supporting role to the Business Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Human Resources for the School:
Assisting the Business Manager in the co-ordination and management of the personnel functions for the school including:
- Assist with recruitment of staff.
- Ensure that comprehensive and accurate HR records for all staff are maintained.
- Assist with completion of staffing data returns, reports, surveys and questionnaires as required.
- Helping to organise supply cover where required.
Safeguarding/Single Central Record:
- Assist with maintaining effective safeguarding recording systems including the crucial Single
- Ensure all staff, visitors and volunteers attending school have the appropriate DBS clearance.
Finance and Funding:
- Assisting with the processing of invoices and orders.
- Assisting with Preschool hours claims and invoicing of fees.
ICT:
- Administering staff access and logins.
- Communicating with providers regarding ICT support.
- Updating school website and social media.
General:
- Handling face to face and telephone enquiries from parents, external agencies and members of the public.
- Helping facilitate access to the building for visitors, providing visitors' passes.
- Maintaining pupil records and reporting on SIMS.
- Assisting the Caretaker with buildings maintenance arrangements.
- Completing lunch orders and before and after school club arrangements.
- Assist with production of newsletters and communications to parents.
- Assist with the processing of statutory returns and declarations.
- Annual progression of staff / pupil records
- As a member of school staff, prioritise child safeguarding above all else and ensure robust safeguarding and child protection procedures are in place and followed at all times. Ensure safety and good behaviour of students in and around the school site.
