Islington Memory & Dementia Navigator Service
Band 4 Assistant Psychologist x 2
Full and Part Time

We are seeking two assistant psychologist positions:

Position 1: Primarily deliveringCognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
Full time
37.5 hours per week (1.0wte)
Position 2: Primarily delivering theStrategies for Relatives (START)intervention to carers of people with dementia Part time
30 hours per week (0.8wte)

You will need to be motivated, organised, creative, have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion / interest in working with older people.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a clinical psychologist to provide psychological assessment and treatment to people with dementia and their family and carers.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based interventions in a clinical setting.

The Islington Memory & Dementia Navigator Service is well established with an excellent reputation.

You will also be joining a dynamic and creative psychology team whose specialist interests include systemic work with older people, neuropsychology, CST, service user involvement and interventions with carers.

We are a Trauma Informed Organisation and try to embed anti-discriminatory practice into our work.

Position 1:
Delivering Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST).

Position 2:
Delivering a manualised CBT based intervention to carers of people with dementia (START - STrAtegies for RelaTives).

Both positions will include the opportunity to deliver CST and START.

You will work with other staff of the multi-professional team in the assessment and care provided to service users. You will attend and contribute to relevant multi-professional meetings.

You will also assist in the design and implementation of audit, service development and Quality Improvement (QI) projects within the service as required.
