Senior Appointment Administration Clerk - Band 3 (Full Time 37.5h, Monday to Friday working)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support and mentor the Administration Clerks to enable the efficient and effective completion of all tasks by working closely with the Team Lead.
  • In the absence of the Team Lead, to use autonomy for set routine tasks and supervise work of junior staff in order to ensure continuity and completion of work, reporting any concerns to the Manager.
  • To be the first point of contact to the Operation Lead/Senior Management in the absence of the Manager or Team Lead.
  • Assist the AHP Administration Team Lead (if required) to coordinate and deliver induction, training and support to new and existing staff.
  • Support the AHP Administration Team Lead (if required) to deliver monthly Supervisions.
  • To maintain appropriate standards of Health and Safety as per Trust Policies and to adhere to all Trust policies and standards.
  • To communicate nonclinical verbal and written information in a precise and effective way both internally and externally to patients, relatives and carers for many of whom there may be communication difficulties as a result of old age, hearing loss, pain, fear, and language or learning difficulties. Information has to be communicated using relevant speed, accuracy, tact, understanding and confidentiality.
  • To work individually and as part of the team to provide high quality, referral services and provide cover when needed during times of staff absence or annual leave.
  • To provide an effective and efficient, customer friendly service to the patients of MPFT, their families and carers.
  • To appoint, cancel and rearrange appointments as required using the (Rio) Referral system, ensuring clinics are fully utilised.
  • To provide support and advice, maintain channels of communication and links with clinical and other staff within the department.
  • Recording accurate, confidential, and sensitive patient information.
  • To implement and Review Risk Assessments under the guidance of the Team Lead.
