An exciting opportunity is now available for an Administrative Apprentice to join the Learning & Development team.


We are looking for someone that is motivated, with excellent customer service & communication skills that can provide administrative and system support to the wider team and our 17,000 colleagues across Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH).

Via a Helpdesk, face to face and central inbox system.


The successful applicant will also be someone who likes having a variety of office working and setting up training rooms and equipment for our service users.


As part of the apprenticeship package, you will have the opportunity to achieve a Level 2/3 in Customer Service whilst gaining the experience you need to take the next step into your career.

Main duties of the job

General office and administration support service to the administrative team

Responding to Helpdesk queries through a Helpdesk and central inbox system.

Take ownership for the Training rooms ensuring they are set up in a timely manner for the day's room bookings and activities including:

  • Opening divider doors
  • Moving chairs
  • Setting up of tables
  • Room layouts as required
  • Ensuring room equipment is functioning and set up correctly
  • Assisting room users with technical issues
  • Maintaining general room cleanliness and notification of any issues
Undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc.

To assist with the ordering of supplies as appropriate.

We are looking for someone to work with us who will thrive in a busy environment alongside other Helpdesk colleagues.


You will be able to prioritise tasks effectively to respond to customers at NUH, which are the staff that work within the Trust.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • English, Maths and ICT GCSE Level C or above
Desirable criteria

  • QCF in business administration level 1 or customer care or equivalent
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel at a basic level
Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience of working within an administrative setting is desirable in either a paid or voluntary capacity but not essential
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Good communication skills
  • Able to provide and receive routine information orally, to inform colleagues, and customers
  • Able to provide information to manager and colleagues (orally and electronically) as required and answers routine queries from staff/customers
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers both face to face and in writing

Analytical and Judgement skills
