The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit two Consultant Lower Limb Arthroplasty Surgeon to increase capacity and improve delivery of high quality surgery to patients referred from General Practitioners, Triage services and other Secondary or Tertiary care providers.

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has been designated as a Major Revision Centre (MRC) in the reconfiguration of revision arthroplasty services and is therefore looking for two members to join the team.

One post will have a specific remit to help build the revision knee service and we would be delighted to consider existing revision knee consultants who wishes to relocate to an MRC or a highly motivated fellowship trained individual who is looking to build a complex revision practice.

The second post holder would be experienced in complex hip and knee revision surgery and would complement the experience of the current team delivering primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty.

You would join the Arthroplasty group within the Large Joints department.

The current team comprises 11 colleagues with 3 having a particular interest in the management of Young Adult Hip conditions.


The individual appointed to the post will have competed orthopaedic training, and have completed or be undertaking a training Fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty surgery.

Flexible and less than full-time working can be accommodated.

The job plan is based upon 10 PA's initially.
