Do you have knowledge of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and are you committed to enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion? Do you have strong administrative skills to support the Faculty Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team with their objectives?


This is an exciting opportunity to help the Faculty of Engineering & Physical Sciences advance equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for all our staff and students.

The role is based in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences; our Faculty, consisting of eight Schools, currently holds an Athena Swan Silver award.

The Athena Swan Charter is a framework which is used to support and transform gender equality within Higher Education and research.


You will support the Faculty Lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to deliver their aims and objectives and to advance equityand inclusion projects and initiatives.

The role will include agenda preparation and the servicing of committees and working groups, organising meetings and leading on event coordination.

You will provide effective project support to enable the coordination and delivery of our plans to improve equity, diversity and inclusion across the Faculty of Engineering & Physical Sciences.

In particular, to support our Athena Swan action plan. This will include producing plans, briefings and communication materials.

You will be required to build effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to all EDI work across the Faculty.

You will coordinate the work of our undergraduate and postgraduate EDI Champions.


You will bring a good knowledge of, and interest in, EDI matters; having some experience of working in an EDI environment.

You will have strong planning and organisational skills and have experience of coordinating and drafting EDI communications.

You will be able to work with mínimal supervision and have the ability to reprioritise workloads to meet challenging and competing deadlines.


We are seeking someone excited by the opportunity to work proactively, who takes initiative and who is willing to get involved in a wide variety of activities to support the work of the Faculty.

This role is located on the University Campus with scope for hybrid working.
