Position:


This is a new role to support the growth of the mental health service.


We are looking for a
Senior Counsellor to join our existing team both holding a clinical caseload providing assessment and treatment to patients experiencing common mental health problems and support a small team of counsellors to deliver the service.

You will provide counselling virtually either by telephone or video platform to clients and manage caseload of clients.


KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Undertake accurate assessment of risk to self and others, in doing so to correctly manage and escalate any identified risk.

> Through supervision and case management to escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond the scope of your role or more severe in presentation.

> Adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.

> Deliver a high quality service in line with the BACP code of practice and ethical guidelines

> Carry out case management supervision supporting counsellors to deliver treatment in line with KPI's including session numbers and manage staff utilisation

> Carry out mental health duty cover supporting with general queries, clinical report checks and risk escalation

> Take part in clinical audits for the team and feed back into case management

> Report on team performance

> Provide case management supervision and line management to team of counsellors

> Participate in service improvements

> Any other reasonable duties as required

Requirements:


To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following:

Qualifications:
Suitable qualified counsellor Diploma level four or above


Experience:
Have a minimum of two years mental health experience in virtual counselling. You will hold BABCP accreditation and ideally have previous experience of supervision or management of a small team.


Knowledge:
You will be computer literate with good excel, word and PowerPoint skills.


Skills:
Importantly you will be able to work with you team to achieve the best outcomes for your patients. Be able to effectively problem solve and priority. Communicate effectively and be able to effectively time manage to meet agreed deadlines in a demanding environment.
