Description

Why work with us?:

We are breaking the boundaries and pushing our commitment in the EVTOL world by Changing the way the world travels.

Our mission is powered by pioneers and progress is our prerogative.

Here at Vertical, we are developing the UK's first fully electric, vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), the VX4. With zero-operating emissions. Vertical is transforming the way people travel through offering a faster, safer and greener way to move.

Founded in 2016, Vertical is a leading aerospace and technology company, with the largest global pre-order book with prestigious airline partners such as Virgin Atlantic and American Airlines, and our exceptional partner ecosystem includes the likes of Rolls-Royce and Honeywell.

My Impact as a Test Operations & Facility Lead:

You are a unique individual, with a strong "can do" attitude to ensure our Facility is ready and maintained to support the various planned activities.

A career background in aerospace facilities/MRO would be particularly advantageous, together with an interest in green technology and/or aviation.

This diverse role will serve as the main focal within the company for Ground Test Facility Vertical has, it's a blank canvas site that needs to be tailored to Vertical's evolving test requirements.

Initially the role will be mostly focused on the facility setup task, however over time the role will evolve to support more of the test activities within the premises.

What success will look like for the Test Facility Manager:

In this varied role you will manage the Kemble Ground Test Facility to ensure readiness for all activities, identify and manage site works (electrical, building, etc) with various stakeholders and contractors and line manage a small team of test technicians and engineers, co-ordinating their day-to-day, prioritisation and personal development.

You will work closely with the Test, Build and Engineering functions to determine the site's near and future requirements.

Other activities include:

  • Setup onsite stores and tool control processes that are fit for purpose
  • Order and maintain toolkits/PPE/lifting equipment for the facility, with budget management responsibility
  • Ensure Site Health and Safety is optimised and followed by all attendees (supported by our HS&E team)
  • Act as the site's Accountable HSE Manager which will involve Risk Assessment review and signoff
  • Provide employee and visitor site inductions
  • Ensure the site remains tidy, secure and services maintained
  • Work closely with the Facilities and Production team to ensure standardisation across our various sites
  • Activity coordinate and communicate various site activities and schedules
  • Support and coordinate safe test execution
  • Adhoc support test/build activities with light mechanical/electrical tasks as and when required.

Everything sounds very interesting but how do I know this is the role for me?:
We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences:

  • A demonstrable track record of team working and setting up/maintaining a similar engineering facility
  • A previous leadership role
  • The ability to deliver exceptional results, with mínimal guidance
  • The technical manual skills and understanding to assist with various Mechanical and Electrical tasks where required
  • Enjoys being in the centre of a busy and dynamic working environment

What can you expect from us? For us it is important that people feel valued for the impact they have and are able to thrive and experience the career journey of a lifetime.
