Human Resources Officer (Part Time)

hours per week across Mon to Thurs (Core hours 07:4- 14:30hrs)

Salary Negotiable up to £36.5k pro rata (depending on experience) plus 32 days' holiday (pro rata) and Contributory Pension

Location - Newcastle-Under-Lyme (ST5 7LB)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced
Human Resources Officer. This will be an excellent opportunity for the right person to truly make their mark.

This role will suit someone from an SME Manufacturing background who is a HR Generalist and comfortable with working on the day-to-day HR issues as well as being proactive.


Supported and mentored by an Independent Human Resources Consultant, HR plays a vital role at Accutronics - it's our job to work closely with the team to enable business success, drive cultural change, deliver efficiencies and support people management and development.

We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and good pace. We expect this role to grow as the business does.

  • Are you confident in advising 1st Line Management on any Employee Relations / Legislation issues? You will need to be up to date and strong in ER.
  • Are you resolute in focusing on results and to tackle any problems or conflicts which get in the way despite opposition or resistance?
  • Are you able to Mentor, Counsel, Coach and generally support those in the business who are not confident in their area of competence, building morale and personal esteem and generally encouraging others to give their best performance?

Job Purpose:


The purpose of the HR Officer role is to provide an efficient, effective HR advisory service to support a growing business.

You will be the sole point of contact for all HR related queries within the business.


Main Duties

  • Provide an effective HR administration service ensuring that employee data/information is handled, stored, recorded, processed and retrieved in a professional, confidential, accurate and timely manner, in accordance with GDPR.
  • Full administration of the starter/leaver process, including offer paperwork, contract, leaver acknowledgements, exit interviews etc.
  • Updating and maintaining the company HR database with new starters, leavers and any other employee amendments required.
  • Manage the Induction of new employees into the organisation identifying training needs as and when appropriate.
  • Supporting line managers to ensure they are following HR policies and procedures correctly such as absence reporting, probation periods, return to work meetings and performance reviews
  • Management of the employee time and attendance records
  • Processing any employee changes notified by the business.
  • Provide and collate information in relation to payroll in a timely manner
  • Draft job descriptions, person specifications and prepare job adverts for review and approval by line managers.
  • Recruit new staff into the organisation with support of the appropriate manager(s) ensuring both company and legislative compliance, and management of all required documentation/checks
  • Discipline and Grievance providing advice for line managers and employees on company procedures, ensuring appropriate investigations are conducted, minute taking and managing all relevant correspondence.
  • Answering day to day HR queries
  • Be responsible for HR data collation, analysis and reporting to support a growing business, including HR KPI reporting to the Leadership team.
  • Review/develop and implement new policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the annual appraisal process
  • Identify, plan and evaluate training and development of staff in conjunction with operational managers
  • Work closely to build relationships with other departments across the business to promote a positive and collaborative culture

QUALIFICATONS:


  • Level 5 CIPD certification or working towards, or equivalent experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • HR Generalist experience within a manufacturing or similar bluecollar environment, ideally in a standalone role.
  • Knowledge of HR legislation and good practice and confident to draw on this to challenge company leaders and line managers where appropriate.
  • Adaptable, as being the only HR person onsite means that your day is likely to require a high degree of flexibility.
  • Highly organised
