Description

Queens Hospital Burton has 15 theatres providing a range of specialities from General, Urology, Ophthalmic, Orthopaedic to ENT and Gynaecology and Obstetric services.

The department is split into 4 geographical areas, Treatment Centre Day case unit, holding 6 theatres, treatment room and 2 separate bespoke Orthopaedic theatres.

A further 5 theatres are situated on the Main Building with separate Maternity and Trauma Orthopaedic theatre.

Sir Robert Peel Site in Tamworth holds 1 theatre and 2 Endoscopy rooms which is part of the QHB network.


Full responsibility, accountability and demonstration of leadership will be needed for the daily management and organisation of Orthopaedic Theatres across QHB.

This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities including staff management.

Assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of surgical, anaesthetic and recovery care is required to ensure a safe care environment to meet patient's needs.


Focus will be required to work closely with fellow Lead Practitioners and Senior Sisters in conjunction with the Clinical Theatre Managerand across to the wider UHDB team to ensure smooth, efficient and effective intra operative care delivery.
