Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated, professional and polite Yard Operations Worker to join our team, and to contribute to the our busy HGV transport operation by performing a variety of tasks in the yard.

You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of general maintenance checks, including battery testing, and topping up oil, coolant and screen wash where required.

You will carry out various basic mechanical repairs, including bulb changes and fitting registration plates.

You will manage a schedule of the various vehicle checks and keeping logs of outstanding work

You will ensure the vehicles in the yard are parked in a tidy manner.

You will keep the yard clean and tidy, ensuring bins are collected on time.

You will attend to additional task and adapt your daily routine as requested by management.

You will perform vehicle damage checks for any new or returned temporary vehicles, as well as monitoring the condition of the permanent fleet.

All required training will be provided.


About you

We are looking for someone with the ability to demonstrate a professional and courteous manner, able to communication effectively, and work independently to a plan that may evolve throughout the day.

Strong English verbal and written skills are required to perform your functions.

A working knowledge of basic mechanical defects is preferred.

A full UK driving licence or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous.
