We are currently recruiting Advanced Therapy Assistants to our physiotherapy service and also our talent pool (reserve list).


We at Guys and St Thomas' Foundation NHS Trust physiotherapy department are looking for you to come and join our physiotherapy team as an Advanced Physiotherapy Assistant especially if you have been working in exercise rehabilitation or the exercise health sector.

We work in several specialties of physiotherapy which includes outpatients and/or providing rehabilitation in gyms.

Working with patients with a variety of acute and chronic MSK conditions
Independent 1:1 caseload of (remote rehabilitation and face to face working).

Managing an inpatient or outpatient caseload.

Administration duties within your role and the team.

Progression or regression of patient exercise plan.

Organising and delivering remote and in person classes.

Hydrotherapy, exercise prescription and multidisciplinary working.

The role also includes working with qualified physiotherapists in the outpatient setting.


The post holder will work within the physiotherapist and multidisciplinary team and assist in the care and treatment of our patients.

We deliver high quality of physiotherapy across several sites in London including community settings.


For the role you will be expected to:

  • work independently within the physiotherapy team
- prescribe, progress and develop exercise programs for patients undergoing rehabilitation which may include hydrotherapy, inpatient rehabilitation, pelvic health, remote rehabilitation and gym exercise sessions.
- give essential support in setting up and management of smooth running of condition specific exercise classes for adults of all ages and abilities, this will include various administrative tasks.


You will need to have a confident approach to work and demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients and staff.

You will need to be physically fit.

You will also need to demonstrate an understanding and willingness to work as part of a team, manage your own time effectively and work unsupervised for part of the day.

Microsoft computer skills are essential for this role as you will be involved in data collection and reporting.


Previous NHS experience is not essential, however experience in personal training or working with people with long term conditions in or outside of work is desirable.

The interview is in person as it involves a small amount of practical.
