About the Role

Salary:
£53,100 - £79,700 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to help you and your family.

SSE Enterprise is expanding its Agile capability.

This new role of IT Delivery Lead for the agile delivery team in the IT Team will be responsible for IT Power Platform development, the Data Lake platform, IT change and maintaining system capabilities to support the business day to day activities and value streams.

This is an interesting role where agile delivery teams will deliver solutions in the Microsoft Power Platform and Data Lake platforms.


Your key responsibilities will be:


The Agile Delivery Lead will need to be focused on realising the products objectives, key results and other value targets defined on the product roadmap, with an ability to be adaptable to meet changing business environments.

Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, Technical Lead and Architecture Lead to ensure the product roadmaps have the right balance of delivering business outcomes, technology enablement and operational requirements.

They will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the product lifecycle and product roadmap via their delivery team through use of best practice methodologies, including both agile and waterfall, ensuring effective control over costs and resourcing enabling the delivery of business outcomes.

You will be expected to live agile values and principles to contribute to a harmonious, effective and efficient working environment.


  • Manage the product and delivery teams, and wider stakeholders as required, across endtoend product lifecycle to ensure that resultant systems/services deliver the specified outcomes, within budget and timescale, without introducing technical debt. Work with delivery teams to ensure they are adopting and using appropriate methodologies and ceremonies effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner in outlining the product roadmap, realise the product objectives and key results as defined in the product roadmap.
  • Ensure that IT/business strategy, policy and standards are adhered to, thus achieving commonality and ease of maintenance.
  • Manage cross product and external dependencies, ensuring activities are joined up from an operational and delivery point of view.
  • Management of 3rd parties, reviewing their performance, ensuring alignment with SSE ways of working and values acting as a routine contact point between organisation and supplier.

What do I need?


You'll have experience as an Agile Delivery Lead delivering platform capabilities, where you've exemplified and promoted Agile values and principles.


The following skills and experience are essential:

  • Demonstrable experience of leading successful delivery with multiple delivery teams have strong technical knowledge to provide delivery teams with support and guidance.
  • High level knowledge of development processes, including but not limited to DevOps, Scrum, Kanban and lean development.
  • Experience of project cost accounting and a good understanding of capex vs opex budgetary structures.
