Job Summary:

Macdonald & Company are delighted to be working with a leading European developer, operator and asset manager of Science and Innovation locations, in the appointment of a Head of Property Management.

The portfolio consists of laboratory facilities including cleanrooms, research facilities, pilot plants, as well as more traditional office space.

The business creates these facilities for R&D departments of knowledge institutions, educational bodies and knowledge-intensive businesses in sectors such as, sciences, healthcare, biotechnology and high-tech industries.


The business owns and manages multiple assets in the UK and is in advanced negotiations and plans to significantly expand its position in the UK with new developments and acquisitions.


In this position as Head of Property Management, you will work in a small team and will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the UK portfolio of properties, and will lead a small team of property managers and laboratory managers.

Day to day you will drive and manage the property management function, from strategy and process development to reporting and scaling the team.

You will also implement processes and procedures to ensure the property management function can scale across the UK business. Whilst an understanding of life science properties would be preferred, it's not essential.

However, you will need proven experience of both local and senior management and a track record in implementing planned preventative maintenance strategies over multiple buildings.

An understanding of current industry sustainability levels and the ability to identify opportunities and associated costs/benefits would also be advantageous.
