About the role:

These are exciting times for our Online teams in Glasgow, Bolton and Gloucester and we're seeking to recruit experienced and ambitious individuals as Digital Commercial Underwriters.

You'll contribute in delivering team results through effective Customer Service, building dynamic relationships with a network of national Insurance Brokers at the same time as developing your individual underwriting skills.

As a Digital Commercial Underwriter, you'll be providing excellent service and working to targets; along with your natural ability to build relationships and deal comfortably and confidently with people on-line and over the phone.

We're seeking individuals with a strong service and sales capability and who are not afraid to take on a challenge.

The Digital Trading Teams service a large number of brokers situated throughout the UK. We have an excellent reputation within the UK market and have built strong relationships with many brokers UK wide.

Through our excellent customer service, we have achieved steady growth year on year and continue our ambitious growth targets through 2024 and beyond.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

Working within a fast-paced, dynamic digital trading team of underwriters, involved in working on a variance of products that include package, property and casualty.

The team will be responsible for managing their own workload, where opportunities exist in NB or EB that includes:

Delivering planned financial results through the effective underwriting and trading of cases whilst adhering to UW controls.
Contributing to the development of colleagues by coaching, training and acting as a referral point assisting in decision making within empowerment.
Building effective trading relationships with Brokers, through trading activity and being recognised as a positive trading partner.
Establish and develop business relationships with intermediaries to maximise sales and trading opportunities.
Follow agreed governance processes and audit controls and demonstrate regulatory principles in dealings with all customers.
Develop a sound working knowledge of all AXA Commercial Underwriting systems and tools.
Provide excellent service and promote the business through a polite, helpful and willing attitude to both external and internal customers.
Work to targets in a fastpaced environment, dealing confidently and accurately with Intermediaries online and by telephone.

Excellent sales, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience of working in the Insurance sector as a Commercial Underwriter and possess a sound understanding of the insurance market and processes across commercial lines insurance operations.
Advanced Computer and Microsoft Excel skills.
Effective time management skills.
Customer focused team player.
Progress towards CII qualifications desirable.
