    Job summary:


    We are looking for an experienced, proactive and engaging Interaction Designer to work within the Planning Inspectorates Digital Service Teams.

    You'll be working with a multidisciplinary team to help deliver changes to our citizen facing and internal digital and data services that will change the way the Planning Inspectorate delivers an excellent service for our customers.

    Job description:


    We are looking for an experienced interaction designer who is motivated and proactive in working in multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement solutions in line with Planning Inspectorates' strategic direction and goals.


    You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary project team, to analyse problems and outline and prototype designs to solve those problems, helping to ensure that services are user focussed and clear, and ensuring new ways of working are embraced and our services delivered in line with project goals and delivery cycles.

    You will be an integral part of the digital team whilst working on the project and helping to maintain design standards whilst improving processes, strategies, and methods.

    Person specification:


    Essential Criteria

    • Demonstrable experience of leading user centred interaction design including development of prototypes.
    • Extensive experience prototyping with a wide range of design software (e.g.
    GDS Prototype Kit, Figma, Miro).

    • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and experience of ensuring that digital services are accessible to all users, including users with low digital skills.
    • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams to embed usercentred design practices.
    • Experience of designing interactions professionally for the web and mobile in a range of design environments.
    • Experience of setting design standards and leading a team to implement them.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Experience of the Government Service Standard
