Description

At our site in Hyde, we are looking for a well-rounded Multi-Skilled, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will carry out various electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair activities to ensure plant, machineryand general facilities across the site are available and reliable. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will work on manual lathes, milling machines, paint spray booths, shot blasters etc. You will also assist in the reduction of plant downtime, continuous improvementinitiatives, health and safety, and environmental project work.

Our Engineers are problem solvers, alongside your day to day, you'll get involved in CI and project work. You'll also play a key part in the on-going growth of a high performing site.

DUTIES:


  • Assist Production in achieving a very high level of maintenance via planning and control
  • Carry out Electrical and Mechanical maintenance work on machine tools, test equipment and
buildings services as and when required

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns, unplanned problems and diagnose faults effectively to
minimise downtime by carrying out Reactive Maintenance

  • Carry out quality inspections on jobs
  • Specify and order maintenance equipment as requested
  • Respond to all aspects of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects,
supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements

  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
  • Work from engineering drawings and documentation or work instructions to the Company
and BS/EN/ISO9001:2000 standards, systems and procedures

  • Work in conjunction with the Operation Manager to ensure mínimal disruption to production
  • Maintain breakdown records of all plant and equipment

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:


  • Recognised qualification in Engineering
  • Proven Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience
  • Logical problemsolving approach and diagnostics skills
  • Ability to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
  • Experience of Machinery Fault Finding and Repairs
  • Enthusiastic and Selfmotivated
  • Understand and interpret electrical drawings

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist Production in achieving a very high level of maintenance throughout the Company via
planning and control.

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance work on machine tools, test equipment and
buildings services as and when required.

  • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and diagnose faults effectively to minimise
downtime.

  • Design electrical interface of test equipment.
  • Carry out quality inspections on jobs

  • Specify and order maintenance equipment as requested
in line with the Company's

Purchasing Procedure.

  • Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
.

  • Work from engineering drawings and documentation or work instructions to the Company
and BS/EN/ISO9001:2000 standards, systems and procedures.

  • Work in conjunction with the Operation Manager to ensure mínimal disruption to production
.

  • Maintain breakdown records of all plant and equipment
.

  • Make contribution towards improving the efficiency of the organisation.
  • Maintain a very high standard of workmanship and housekeeping.
  • Carry out such further tasks as may from time to time be delegated to him/her.
  • Ensure you show regard for your fellow colleagues.
  • Ensure all Company procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.

Qualifications

  • A degree such as a HND in manufacturing or engineering or vocational qualifications in related areas.
