Salary:
London ranging from £53,300 to £65,000

The team/department

The FCA operates three lines of defence model to manage risks to its objectives.

The Risk and Compliance Oversight Division (R&CO) is the FCA's second line of defence and is here to help the FCA mitigate risks to its objectives, support effective decision making and continuously improve the FCA's risk management over time.


R&CO has a wide remit and a varied role ranging from defining and maintaining the FCA's risk framework to help the FCA classify, identify, measure, and mitigate risks; identifying and reporting on cross-cutting and operational risks; and providing quality assurance on decision making and risk management with a focus on future improvements.

Through our role we work closely with all Divisions, as well as senior Executive and Board Committee members.

The division is headed by an Executive Director who reports to the CEO and is a member of the Executive Committee.


We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Risk & Compliance Oversight (R&CO) division, in the Office of the Executive Director who leads the division.

The role holder will need to work autonomously to provide high quality support to the Executive Director and her Private Secretary and interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure their priorities are effectively and efficiently delivered.

What you will be doing (the role)- Working autonomously to support the Executive Director and her Private Secretary as part of a close-knit team, balancing a varied and interesting workload and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders- Leading on matters in your areas of responsibility (for example, people plan, specific portfolios, quarterly reviews), advising the Executive Director, providing constructive challenge where you identify issues or concerns, and escalating to the Private Secretary and the Executive Director as appropriate- Ensuring that the Executive Director is well briefed ahead of meetings, taking minutes at meetings where appropriate- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (in private offices, management teams and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) across the FCA to deliver for the ED R&CO- Handling correspondence from a range of external stakeholders- Ensuring important matters are brought to the Executive Director's attention and all correspondence with the Executive Director is responded to in a timely manner- Co-ordinating and supporting the preparation of the divisional reporting, working with colleagues across the Division and other parts of the FCA- Facilitating the effective and efficient running of the Division- Working closely and maintaining a strong network with other FCA Executive Assistants (EA's) to share best practice and identify opportunities for collaboration and ensure consistency across R&CO and the FCA
