Senior Bookkeeper - Practice
We are recruiting for a Senior Bookkeeper to join an accountancy practice on the outskirts of York.

This company prides itself on its commitment to work/life balance and ensuring that their people have the flexibility they need not just daily but weekly.

This is a full time position, 37 hours - you choose how to deliver that in your week.

As long as you are in the office 10am-4pm 4 days of the week, the rest is up to you.

A salary between £30,000 TO £35,000 is offered along with an amazing benefits package and free parking


The role

  • To support the bookkeeping team.
  • Help with any technical queries the team have
  • Mange the team workflow, to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manor
  • Help the team achieve its KPI, and identify any potential issues in doing so
  • Communicate directly with the senior accountants to update on work flows / potential issues.
  • Manage your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients

Your experience

  • At least 5 years of practice experience.
  • Knowledge of Vat schemes and Vat rules
  • Payroll experience
  • Experienced in bookkeeping practices and managing high level clients
  • Proficient computing skills in Practice Management, Microsoft Office, and commercial software accounting packages
  • Experience of Xero is essential for this role
  • Excellent logical analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Previous experience managing a team of accounts staff is preferred however not essential
