  • RTT Pathway Coordinator | New Hall Hospital | Full Time 37 Hours Per Week


  • The Role

  • Based at New Hall Hospital, the main objective of the role is the responsibility for the management and validation of the 18week referral to treat time (RTT) ensuring the provision of a systematic, efficient and confident service.
  • To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate you have significant experience in managing patient pathways. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team based environment. A highly visible presence in the department is expected ensuring a responsive and proactive service to patients and staff.
  • You will need to have the ability to learn and adapt the role to enhance the offering and availability for the hospital whilst working within very tight deadlines. You will also need to be target driven and have a proven track record of achieving results.
  • The role will report in to the Administration Manager and work with Consultants, Consultant Secretaries, HOD's, Clinical and Administration Teams.
  • The working hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday between 08.00 and 18.00 to meet the needs of the role.
  • Responsibilities
  • To work primarily independently and on own initiative with mínimal supervision to carry out the duties of the post
  • Take responsibility for the prioritisation of workload. Respond to changing priorities and conflicting demands in an effective manner and develop systems to improve effectiveness of the post
  • Manage complex patient pathways from multiple specialties, in line with the agreed Trust Access Policy
  • Provide advice to Consultants and Administration teams where there is a lack of awareness or following of the policy. Be sufficiently skilled to impart knowledge and skills effectively to others across a variety of staff levels and disciplines
  • Work collaboratively with consultant secretaries and clinical teams within the hospital to ensure appropriate management of patient information and the coordination of patient pathways. To have sufficient understanding of the secretarial and administrative processes to support this
  • To be sufficiently skilled to understand the 18 week processes to enable interpretation and analyse of the 18 week pathways from multiple specialties across the directorate to execute a range of trust policies and procedures
  • Actively manage patient's pathway ensuring any diagnostic tests, appointment and admissions are arranged in a timeframe that ensures patient service their treatment within the national waiting time targets
  • Ensure appointment and admissions are arranged effectively to achieve the following current national and local wait time targets
  • To negotiate appointments for patients with other members/departments so ensuring the targets are met
  • Highlight and address any processes inefficiencies that delay the patient journey. Implement process improvement by process redesign followed by awareness and training sessions
  • Expedite admissions and appointment for patients if necessary through negotiation with the administration teams
