    Seeking a driven and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor in Manchester.

    About the Role

    We are working with an innovative construction consultancy firm who require an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their infrastructure team in Manchester.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Assist in establishing client requirements and undertake initial cost planning exercises.
    2. Carry out cost planning and value engineering to RIBA design stages and provide informed client cost advice.
    3. Understand and develop an opinion on procurement strategies.
    4. Prepare tender and contract documents, including BOQs for checking by senior staff.
    5. Carry out tender appraisals and identify a recommendation for the client.
    6. Monitor and record costs of projects.
    7. Identify risks to projects and assess cost variations.
    8. Value completed works and arrange payments in accordance with the contract.
    9. Produce draft project reports or claims under the supervision of senior staff.
    10. Issue notices in accordance with the contract under claim situations.
    11. Liaise and confidently communicate with other members of the project or client team.
    12. Maintain detailed variation and risk register information.
    13. Prepare draft final accounts.

    Requirements:

    1. Confidently attend and input into project meetings.
    2. Procurement experience.
    3. Gaining experience or understanding of the CVR process.
    4. An understanding of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods.
    5. Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and principles.
    6. Demonstrate an appetite for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
    7. Numerate skills.
