This is an opportunity for a Highly Specialist Systemic Family Psychotherapist to join our Systemic team within our expanding, specialist multi-disciplinary CAMHS Eating Disorder service at The Royal Free Hospital.

Our expanding service offers both an Intensive Day Service and a substantial outpatient service to North Central London.

This a new Band 8a permanent, part-time post, 30 hours/week, with the opportunity to work flexibly, both onsite and remotely according to the needs of the service.


The role involves delivering systemic interventions and evidence based treatment to young people and their families, as well as offering systemic consultation and supervision within our team and across the network.


Systemic principles sit firmly within our service treatment ethos, and as a systemic team we are valued and respected in how we may help to embed systemic thinking and approaches across the service.

We are able to support developing Systemic Family Therapists and other core disciplines through supervision, consultation and our Family Therapy Clinic.

We are looking for an experienced Systemic Family Therapist with experience of working with patients with eating disorders


Main duties include:

  • To provide Systemic Family Therapy and systemic interventions to young people and their families aged 1018 years with eating disorders.
  • As a member of the team, to additionally deliver FT-AN, (Family Therapy Anorexia), for which training will be provided if needed.
  • To provide systemic supervision and consultation to colleagues and the wider professional network.
  • To work as part of an multidisciplinary team to develop enhanced formulation and treatment pathways.
  • To support the development of trainee and newly qualified Systemic colleagues, through both retrospective and live supervision.
  • To participate in the Duty Clinician and assessment rota for the triaging and assessment of new referrals, and for the coordinating of responses to matters of clinical urgency.
  • To deputise for the Lead Systemic Psychotherapist as required.
  • To contribute to the operational management and development of the serviceand to maintaining a supportive working environment.
