Position Purpose:
To ensure the company is best placed to play a leading role in the tech for good movement, bringing Pawprint's vision to life through technology.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
- Tech Team Lead
- Monitoring IT efficiency
- Assessing, monitoring and upgrading business systems and processes
- IT security and governance
- Managing and developing the business IT division
- Optimising business IT processes
- Expanding and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services, following key principles of security, resilience and automation
- Supporting our release processes through design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
- Providing expertise on Linux system administration, containerization and tuning
- Working closely with our tech teams and acting as a mentor and guide; constructively discussing design decisions within the group, evangelising DevOps best practices and ensuring our services can withstand the test of scale
Requirements:
- Essential experience:_
- Amazon Web Services
- Writing and maintaining InfrastructureasCode; AWS Cloudformation and CDK are our tools of choice
- Linux and Docker containers, and the associated tuning and troubleshooting
- Writing scripts with Python or another suitable programming language for operations automation; you should be very comfortable with Git
- CI/CD systems and pipelinesascode; we use Gitlab-CI, but we are happy to consider strong transferable knowledge from other CI/CD systems such as Jenkins
- Solid foundations of networking, security and resilient system design
- Desirable experience:_
- Deploying and managing at scale; AWS ECS and EKS (Kubernetes)
- Experience supporting Web Apps technologies; our stack includes React, PHP Symfony, Python and PostgreSQL
- Relational databases
- IT Automation technologies; we use Ansible and AWS Systems Manager
- Monitoring and Alerting tools; we use Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager

- GitHub/GitLab profile with examples of your work
- A genuine desire to learn what you don't know, to be a supportive presence in the team and to research and experiment with new services and tools
- A passion for Linux and an opensource oriented mindset; as it should be clear by reading up to this point, we have a Linuxbased tech environment and we strive to adopt open source software rather than closed counterparts
- Although this is not a developer role, understanding (one or more) programming languages is beneficial for this role, as it might help you with both design and troubleshooting tasks
