We are recruiting for a Design Engineer to work with Murphy Applied Engineering in Cannock. Our engineering teams represent a multi-disciplined range of engineering skills adding value across all our sectors and pushing the boundaries of digital construction engineering innovation and design to deliver intelligent sustainable and economical engineering solutions.Under the banner of Murphy Applied Engineering our in-house teams include civil structural mechanical geotechnical and process engineers They design both permanent and temporary works for projects in all our locations and are a trusted source of expert advice for both Murphy colleagues external customers.
A day in the life of a Murphy Design Engineer To design protection control system according to project specific requirements for electrical substation up to voltage level kV Prepare single line diagram key line diagram substation project Convert OEM generic drawing into client specific drawings To review OEM drawings overall system integration provide interface details Produce wiring termination diagram low voltage cable schedule core sheets etc as required project delivery Provide technical support during construction commissioning formal response site queries i.e. preparation mods rectify error or reason amend design fulfil functional requirement Work closely other sections substation engineering team enable effective collaboration multi-disciplinary projects facilitate optimal function Establish promote best practice health safety environmental matters conjunction SHQE department Where supervision assistant engineers junior engineers CAD operators
- P C design experience at least Years.
- Familiarity different types protection Unit Non-unit Backup protection etc.
- Familiarity different scheme AIS GIS substations National Grid specification.
