Our client based in the Huntingdon area are looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager on a full time, permanent basis.


This is a well-established manufacturing company who have recently gone through a period of growth and can offer a stable, supported future and hope to be driven forward in this area of the business by a dedicated, dynamic and conscientious individual.


Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods
  • The efficient utilisation of space and mechanical handling equipment, ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
  • Having a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
  • Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where utilised
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy
  • Planning future capacity requirements
  • Organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
  • Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Briefing team on a daily basis
  • Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
  • Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • People management allocating resource, daily tasking in line with balancing business priorities, performance management of the individual and the team, training & development of competencies. Lead your team in creating good housekeeping practices, regardingstores, warehouse, and yard.

Additional responsibilities:

  • As part of the Operations team, to contribute to productivity and morale by communicating problems promptly to management and by assisting members of immediate, and wider teams, when required, to the best of job holder's abilities.
  • To communicate effectively with upper management and other staff in order to improve morale and teamwork as well as better understanding of, and progress towards overall Company goals.
  • Occasionally there will be a requirement to work extra hours to meet deadlines.
  • This job description is intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post, and the job holder will be required to undertake such duties appropriate to the grade and/or position as may be required by the Manager and/or Company, to ensure the smoothrunning of the Business.

  • To undertake, and participate in, the Company appraisal and reviews.
  • To actively participate in training and development courses appropriate to job holder's role and maximise opportunities for selfdevelopment by identifying any additional training needs.
  • The ensure the job holder does not, without due authorisation (or taking all reasonable care) and good faith, divulge private or strictly confidential information relating to the Company or to its staff, customers, suppliers or applicants, and particularlyin respect of personal data.
  • The job holder will report any area of concern to their Manager.

H&S Requirements:

  • To work safely at all times in line with health and safety legislation.
  • To be aware of nd adhere to all Company Safety, Quality and Hygiene procedures.
  • To ensure correct personal protective equipment is worn/used by job holder.
  • Ensure that identified risks are reported to Manager.

Experience required:

  • Time served leading a team of 10+ staff in a fastpaced logistics/distribution environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Approachable demeanour with the ability to work with people of various ages and backgrounds
  • H&S qualification such as IOSH is desirable however not essential
  • FLT licenses & Experience
