The role


The Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE) is seeking an exceptional Project Coordinator to support the university's electrification ambitions and strategy, and to initially support the Strategic Project Manager in the development and delivery of strategic projects in the field of electrification.


As Project Coordinator you will provide professional administrative support to the University's electrification projects including IESAM, the National Battery Training and Skills Project and the development of the Electrification Process Innovation Centre project and consortium, working as part of a team supporting the development and success of the project.

You will have experience of working effectively with a wide range of colleagues, managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and of effectively organising meetings.


Previous project coordination experience is essential as your role will involve attending project meetings both internal and external, maintaining project reports, as well as attending project meetings, recording minutes and actions.

The post is available full time, on a fixed term basis until March 2025.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide professional administrative support to ensure the smooth running of electrification projects and consortium. Directly support academic and professional service leads as required
  • Administrative support will include diary management, organising travel, conducting initial investigations/research, drafting correspondence such as complex reports, letters, proposals or presentations, dealing with visitors, and supporting events
  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting designated project meetings, including meeting arrangement, coordinating papers, drafting agendas, taking minutes and proactively managing actions
  • Collation, review, formatting and publication of documentation, including reports required by funders and other stakeholders
  • To proactively receive, resolve and respond to enquiries received into the project, to ensure that an effective service and clear advice is provided to colleagues and customers
  • To develop, implement and maintain effective project procedures and systems to ensure that support is efficient, timely and accurate
  • To manage records relating to the functions of the project, to include taking responsibility for maintaining databases of information; gathering data from multiple sources and ensuring the integrity of data entered/recorded
  • To investigate project conditions and guidelines and keep colleagues aware of administrative requirements to the projects
  • To develop a communications plan for electrification projects which will include maintaining project websites, mailing lists and social media as required
  • To represent the University and electrification projects at events as required
  • Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous project coordination experience
  • Experience of liaising and working effectively with a wide range of colleagues
  • Experience of managing multiple tasks alongside each other and prioritise productively, with the flexibility to respond effectively to changing demands and priorities
  • Experience of handling confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Experience of organising meetings, taking minutes, preparing agenda and reports
  • Experience of preparing reports and communication materials
  • An ability to monitor budgets and handle project finances
  • Proficient in MS Excel
