The role


Responsible for the fit, finish and quality of multi products fabricated under the label, the Garment & Fit Technologist will ensure that the exceptionally high standards for which the brand is known are upheld.

This pivotal role connects the Design & Production teams, so excellent communication and exacting attention to detail is key.

You will use your knowledge and experience to monitor and improve fit and quality, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem solving along the way.

An understanding of tailoring, woven and jersey casualwear, true knitwear and denim is preferable.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively between internal departments and overseas suppliers
  • Being responsible for the quality, fit, finish & legal compliance of products, presenting and implementing improvements where required
  • Responsible for the fit of garments in all product ranges from the 1st proto through to gold seal and associated production control
  • Aligning fit across the range; using fit models to ensure consistency across garmenttypes
  • Ensure fit reviews are carried out across the full range and benchmarking against our competitors
  • Lead fit session and relay clear & concise comments
  • Create fully graded specs and provide technical drawings and diagrams where necessary
  • Have a thorough understanding of grading, with the ability to check and approve graded patterns, using these as a basis on which to approve production
  • Checking Production Samples are correct for bulk production, ensuring the products are 'fit for purpose'
  • Working across departments to ensure any QA/Technical issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Create and agree any CAPA reports where product failure has occurred
  • You will be the main contact for all returns and/or rejected garments
  • Spotchecking production by stock request in from warehouse or warehouse visits to ensure an exceptional finish and standard is upheld
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, identifying potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain and driving improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with Design & Merchandising to establish optimum product value and maintain excellent communication throughout
  • Review fabric test reports to ensure compliance is followed

The Person
They should be dynamic in their approach as they will need to react quickly to ever changing environments.

Finally, they will be charismatic and confident, happy interacting with different audiences and peers.


Experience

  • Be exacting and passionate about producing exceptional product
  • Minimum of 5years proven experience working in a comparable role or environment
  • Have experience of working closely with factories, visiting and checking Production
  • Be a proactive problem solver with a commercial mindset
  • Be both positive and logical in your approach, working well to tight deadlines
  • Be confident asking questions and challenging the status quo in a quest for excellence
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Have strong computer literacy with a competency in Adobe Illustrator & Ms Excel
  • Be willing to undertake fresh challenges to help elevate product/brand
  • Be optimistic in your outlook and approach challenges positively, taking team members with you
  • Be commercial in your approach and always have the customer in mind
  • Strive for excellence in all areas of your work
  • Possess a critical eye for detail and construction on Samples so amendments can be translated into Final Production Garment
  • Occasional travel may be required to our London studio and overseas facilities
