Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) Contract in Glasgow.

CWA is a joint venture formed by Morrison Water Services (MWS) and AECOM Limited to support delivery of the Water and Waste Water Infrastructure elements of Scottish Water's capital investment programme.

The contract includes programme management, design and construction of works associated with the Water and Waste Water networks across Scotland.

This will be a Hybrid Working role with some travel required to Glasgow Office. Where we are able, we work flexibly. Believing that empowered colleagues are happier and more productive. In this role, there will be opportunity to work in a flexible way. This could mean splitting your time, based on business need between site, the office and home. Your contract location will remain as your place of work.

Flexibility and hybrid working is managed on a case-by-case basis so please don't be afraid to ask in your interview about the flexibility on offer.


As the Finance Business Partner your responsibilities will include:

  • Business partner to the regional team providing guidance, support, challenge and expertise
  • Identify opportunities to improve business performance, adding financial and commercial knowledge to discussions and supporting the delivery of key financial targets
  • Drive improved financial awareness via effective business partnering, finance inductions, workshops and training
  • Lead analysis of central costs and recharges, manage key relationships within the Division teams and proactively identify and deliver best practice processes improvements
  • Month end reporting and analysis, providing insightful analysis of month end performance, identifying key variances, underlying causes, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders
  • Take full ownership of management accounts for the region, prepare and post journals, review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the shared service centre, assist and supply information to auditors for annual audit
  • Help with the strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting for the region

In order to be successful in this role we are looking for the below skills & Knowledge:
Are you a qualified Accountant with relevant post qualification experience?

Are you a committed team player with a proven ability to hit deadlines, in a fast-paced environment?

Do you have strong commercial acumen to support delivery of business goals?

Do you have strong focus on controls, processes, and continuous improvement?

Do you have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and to use these relationships to get results?

Do you have the ability to challenge senior stakeholders and operate with impact and influence?

Do you have effective written and verbal communication skills?

Do you have experience of using Oracle would be advantageous but not essential?
