Description

As part of the national CDC programme University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group which includes Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals, has successfully bid for funding for three Community Diagnostic Centres in Northamptonshire.

The project to deliver two of these centres is due to be completed in 2024, with work on the third now commencing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging leader to drive the design, delivery, and implementation of our CDCs, agreeing priorities with the SRO, Diagnostic Divisional Managers, Deputy Chief Operating Officers, and the CDC Programme Board.

Deliver the CDC implementation programme ensuring the programme delivers the objectives and benefits described in the business case

Ensure the programme delivers to the required quality and timescales

Resolve issues and problems which arise related to the programme

Engage the SRO, escalating issues as appropriate

Support all key stakeholders in the delivery of the CDC programme

Develop bids and business cases for both national and local schemes of work

Secure additional sources of funding as opportunities arise

Support the CDC clinical lead with the development of clinical pathways to support efficient diagnosis and treatment of patients

Take lead responsibility for the development and implementation of effective programme management, in line with requirements of the SRO.

Motivate and drive the supporting groups to meet their objectives within the timescales agreed.

Develop and support effective stakeholder relationships nationally, regionally and across the Northamptonshire system.

Report into the Programme Board and provide advice on CDCs, particularly from centres that are already operational.


Ensure a robust governance framework is in place and embedded for the CDC programme as a whole and for all CDC enablers.

Take responsibility for the governance reporting delivery and rhythm for UHN and the NICB.


Prepare reports for the following meetings: UHN Strategic Development Group, UHN Group Board, UHN Integrated Leadership Group, NICB Integrated Planning resources Committee, NICB Delivery and Performance Committee,


Effectively manage key relationships with the Trust, the ICB, NHSE region and national teams and other partners to effectively lead the CDC programme.


Support the CDC clinical lead with the pathway design of high quality, safe, effective care to patients as an integral part of the CDC team and within the limits of own knowledge, skills and competence.

Share knowledge and skills with others, sharing good practice with neighbouring organisations and nationally.

At all times to work within the Trust's policies and procedures.
