Purpose of the role:


Working collaboratively to deliver high productivity, undertaking end to end mortgage processing (excluding Completions) and administration across the Member Services Department that results in service that stands out for all Members and Brokers.


The day to day role:


  • Providing mortgage advice in a regulated environment adhering to Saffron's lending criteria/ eligibility providing customers with a professional service that stands out.
  • Following the Society's advised sales process and execution only sales process for the delivery of appropriate outcomes for existing mortgage customers.
  • Adhering to the Society's Mortgage Sales Policy, Lending Policy and Criteria at all times to ensure the process adheres to the appropriate regulation & legislation relevant to the role, and cases meet the Society's risk appetite. In instances where a case does not meet criteria and adviser believes it is appropriate to refer a case to Underwriters, the referral must contain a full rationale for the referral, identifying why this is in the interests of the customer and the Society to proceed.
  • Identifying and managing complaints in accordance with the Society's Complaint Handling Policy and Procedures. Where a complaint arises, you will take ownership and management of that complaint, unless it relates to another business area or is a complaint against you personally; in which case, you will pass this on in a timely manner Authorise redress where appropriate within own mandate as detailed in the Complaints Policy.
  • Satisfying the requirements laid down by the Society Training & Competence scheme.
  • Proactively maintaining relationships with customers using the retention maturity process.
  • Undertaking and documenting continuous professional development (CPD), including market awareness and technical knowledge.
  • Offering a full advice service to customers when required on a regulated mortgage contract when looking at alternative product options or new lending.
  • Processing retention administration including creating illustrations, ensuring requests to switch products are passed implemented swiftly by colleagues with the requisite permission
  • Identifying the need to refer customer to a third party if the Society is unable to provide a solution to meet their needs

  • CEMAP Qualified 1-3 (Specialist)
  • Financial Services and Regulation (Specialist)
  • Sound knowledge of mortgage products, policy and procedures (Specialist)
