- CBRE are looking for an exceptional surveyor to join the Northern Property Management Team. Based in Leeds you will be responsible for managing FRI and service charge properties across a variety of asset classes. This will include managing high profile offices in central Leeds and industrial and retail properties throughout Yorkshire, the North Midlands, and the North East.
- The Yorkshire and Northeast Property Management team forms part of a wider Northern Property Management Team, having surveyors located in both Manchester and Liverpool. There are 17 fee earners in total. The Leeds Team are responsible for managing properties for a number of key clients throughout the region including CBRE Investment Managers, Cordatus, Sports Direct, MEPC, and Middlesbrough Borough Council in addition to local based clients.
- The local team comprises 6 fee earners, 1 apprentice surveyor and an administrator. The team has ambitious plans to grow through existing and new clients.

- The purpose of this role is to work predominantly on portfolio instructions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of service and to work with other service lines to ensure a tailored and coordinated service.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the transition of client/properties in and out of CBRE management
- Responsibility for compliance relating to sites under their control, acting or escalating any issues relating to noncompliance
- Carry out property inspections
- Responsibility for taking the appropriate action in response to any legal notice received in relation to a managed property
- Responsibility for preparing data for client meetings
- Attending client meetings, ensure recording of minutes and carrying out of actions arising
- Reading of leases and ensuring accurate data is maintained on the property management system
- Ensure rent demands are raised accurately and on time
- Provide recommendations to clients to recover rent and other sums due under the lease terms
- Work with the onsite facilities teams to review and obtain approval of service charge budgets
- Approve service charge year end reconciliations in accordance with RICS guidelines / client instruction
- Identify and progress opportunities for crossselling activities
- Responsibility for arranging and chairing occupier meetings and occupier liaison as required
- Ensure recording of minutes of occupier meetings and 121 meetings are completed and all actions arising from the meeting are dealt with
- Take appropriate action for all forthcoming lease diary events
- Identify opportunities for providing additional services to clients and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Explore opportunities for new business generation and be an efficient presenter
Key Skills/Knowledge
- Ideally RICS qualified although property management experience is considered more important
- Relevant experience in property management in the UK market
- Constantly updating knowledge of legislation relating to property management
- Able to build and maintain client relationships and internal relationships with other service lines
- Use and grow knowledge of law relating to property management in order to make recommendations to the client
- Understand and grow knowledge of the clients' investment objectives
- Be able to recognise opportunities for selling additional services to clients, including crossselling
- Able to build and maintain tenant / customer relationships
- Understand credit control methods
- Able to use IT software such as Word, Excel and other databases
- Able to contribute to team and department business plans
- Able to work as part of a team, supporting other team members and recognising the work of others
- Build and maintain relationships with other parts of the wider CBRE service lines
